Visitors - We have had a couple of men visit including Jim T from Albion Park Men's Shed near Wollongong. They have 1 men's shed in a population of 500,000. Trevor S also visited a men's shed on the NSW central coast, part of 8 sheds in that area. We have previously had a visit from a gentleman from that shed.

Clean up - We are hoping to take a couple of loads to the tip in the coming week. We will look to get a skip bin in before we get to work on the Nissen hut roof.

Typing - If anyone can help with typing please let me know. (Hear hear! Debbie)

Pallets - We have been asked to make some pallets for Eureka Office Furniture. Thanks to all those who helped and those who have picked up and delivered.

Bins - Thanks to Denis C for putting these out each week. To the general members please take note of where you dispose of tea bags and foam cups in the rec. room. Don't leave it to someone else to clean up your mess.

Chook feeders - Thanks to David P and Doug S for making 7 chook feeders for Sovereign Hill. Doug also made a couple of stainless steel sausage holders. Thanks Doug.

Garden Ornaments - You will see a photo in the mag. Showing Neale Mc'S plant stand. If you know of anyone looking for items like this ask the welding guys to see if they could make you something.

Condolences - To John H and Doug S who have lost relatives in the past week. We extend condolences from the Men's Shed.

Hookey Board - We have made a large hookey board for a local retirement home. Get used to it guys this will be the size we will need soon!

Kitchen Help We are fortunate in recent times to have Andrew C helping out in the kitchen. I'm sure Alan and Denis also appreciate his help. I think we take it for granted that food will be on the table on Thursdays, that someone will do the dishes and prep. work as well. Thanks guys, you all deserve a pat on the back.

VCCC car club visit will take place on Sunday 23rd June from 9.30-10.30 for a visit and morning tea. We would appreciate some helpers to open up, put the billy on and talk to the car club members.

Editor Glenn Has completed crossing the Simpson Desert. This is one of the serious 4x4 bucket list events. His vehicle got stuck in 4 wheel drive and is getting fixed in Alice Springs. Thanks to David for editing this mag.

Australian Hearing We will have a visit on Thursday 20th June for a free test. This will be after lunch so please stay back to avail yourself of this Men's Health Week service.

BECS membership Fees for 2013/14, $25, are due from 1st July but can be paid from anytime now.

Free Mens Health Talk To be held at Ballarat Lodge 27th June. Urologist Mr Robert Forsyth will speak about your prostate.

Sick List - Ted D's wife Isobel has had a stay in hospital and is awaiting tests and treatment. Good to see John H back at the shed the toilet block awaits! We still have some members who are undergoing tests and treatment, so we wish you all the best. Good to see Moyle back after recent surgery.

Farmers' Market A good day - $400 raised and sold out of snags. Community Market _ A successful day. BBQ raised $81, Devonshire tea $55 and shed sales $189, for a total of $326.

IGA Supermarket and Haintz Pharmacy These two businesses support BECS by a token scheme (IGA) and a rebate on prescriptions (Haintz). Members and their families are encouraged to support these businesses.

Toilet Block - We are still waiting for the mural on the end wall. Keep your eyes open for it. Work has started on refurbishing the female/disabled toilet . Thanks to John H for this work.

McCains taste testing - Thanks to the volunteers who participated in this event, particularly those from Probus and non shed members. Don't have final figure yet but could members please pass on thanks to those who helped.

Flat Upgrade - The Board is looking into this matter after concerns over insurance were raised. The decision will need to be made re. spending money to upgrade this area versus the loss of income.

Nissen Hut roof repair and clean up. Still to be completed New Members - We have had a number of new members join in recent days. Please make them welcome and get to know them. Many have interesting stories to tell.

AMSA National Conference on 27-29th October - If BECS members are considering attending this conference (and we would encourage you to do so) you may want to start putting aside money for the fees. Early bird registration is $285, and after September 12th it is $360. AMSA is seeking funding to partially reimburse Sheds. There are now over 940 Men's Sheds in Australia.

Art Classes - Are in action on Mondays 1-3.30pm. For more info. see Len Cooper. Refer Courier photo elsewhere in mag.

Music Group - Is on Thursday's 10-12. Turn up to the Rec. room.

AGM - Will be held on 20th July. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for executive or committee positions please ask David for voting slips. If you are nominated we would like a short resume on yourself. Nominations must be received by 1 week prior to meeting.

BBQ Helpers for the month - Thank you to all those who have helped on the bbq's this month. Sorry I don't have a list available.

Holidays - A number of members are on holiday now and others are intending to take some in the next couple of months. Please be aware of this if you need to contact people.

Springfest - We have been granted sites for our shed display and the bbq. We have also applied to be a recipient of Springfest funding, a condition being that we help with their raffle and a woodwork activities stand for children. Negotiations are continuing re. this.

Desks - We have been given a number of flat pack computer desks. If anyone knows of someone who needs one, we can supply.
